Mission in Sao Paulo, Brazil (October 30 – November 2, 2025)

Dr. David Chen, Dr. Wolfgang Reinpold and Dr. Filipi were able to meet in Sao Paulo Brazil with Dr. Sergio Roll and his team.  

We toured Sergio’s training and service hospital. Hernia Help will financially assist with remodeling their OR suite.

Twenty hernia operations were performed by Dr. Roll’s trainees with Dr. Chen, Roll and Reinpold assisting.  All patients did well postoperatively.

Dr. Filipi was asked to provide a lecture for the Sao Paulo chapter of the Brazilian College of Surgeons and was given an honorary membership. 

Dr. Roll also honored Dr. Filipi with a plaque with his name posted outside of one of the Sao Luiz Gonzaga Hospital operating rooms.
